Poetry Night
by Linda Pearson
On Thursday, April 29, the G.P.M.S. Library was converted to a Poetry Cafe. Students, staff, parents, and community members came to read poems in the "Poet's Corner" under twinkling lights. Many great and famous poets (William Shakespeare, Alfred, Lord Tennyson, Lord Byron, Shel Silverstein, William Carlos Williams, Robert Frost to name a few) were represented.
A few of the poems were original works by our students. Some of the readers wore berets or scarves, further setting the mood. After the readings, everyone enjoyed cookies, punch, and cappuccino, departing until next year.
