In the Doghouse
by Leah Wilke
Mrs. Sethaler's class recently completed a project called the "Doghouse Project." Students were encouraged to work on their measurement skills while building a dog house for a toy dog. Students were asked to select a small toy dog (under 10 inches). Select their own building materials, draw a design for the doghouse, write down measurements, decided on geometric shapes for the house, and construct the house.
The assignment covered the following: acute, right, and obtuse angles; geometric shapes, measurement in inches to the nearest quarter of an inch, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Great job everyone!
