New Survey Results from Students, Parents, Staff Now Available

Results were a factor in district planning for the next thirty days


Our surveys are in. We received responses from 132 parents, 85 students (K-12), 34 teachers, and 11 staff members. The overwhelming choice is to continue at least in a reasonable semblance with the schedule we have at present.

Our teachers have been doing great job at preparing for both in-building and remote learners; however, we can see they need more time for planning, preparation, grading, and communication. As we have two days a month set up as school improvement /collaboration days, we are making some of those days Remote Learning Days. On these days ALL students would be remote. During these days teachers will push out SMALL enrichment activities. This would keep kids in our buildings a majority of the time and give time for study, prep, and cleaning.

Plan: Our plan is not going to solve every problem for students, parents, or staff. However, those we implement will help keep everyone as safe as possible and promote student learning.

GP CUSD 4 schools will continue as we have started the year with the following exceptions:

1. Elementary School dismissal time/pick-up time will be 1:15 pm. We have been allowing pick-up earlier in order to ensure that our procedures would work. Responses from the surveys indicate that drop-off and pick-up processes are working well. Dismissal at 1:15 will give teachers more time to work with students!

2. Some days will be REMOTE LEARNING FOR ALL STUDENTS. For the time frame of this plan (Sept. 14-Oct.16) those days will be as follows:

o September 25

o October 2

o October 16

As we did for the first two weeks, we will reassess our plan as we near the end of the first quarter. We will again be seeking input from students, parents, staff, and teachers, to see if further changes need to be made. We hope you take advantage of these opportunities to provide input.
