Allison Dokey is the high school counselor at Griggsville-Perry where she also serves as the National Honor Society sponsor, Class of 2024 sponsor, Student Advisory Committee co-sponsor, and the College-Career Capstone Program Director. In 2019 Allison began developing the College & Career Capstone Program which serves as post-secondary readiness initiative for all students . Allison also established the Griggsville-Perry concurrent enrollment program in partnership with John Wood Community College, paving the way for students to earn college credit while enrolled at GP. Most recently, Allison has facilitated a partnership with Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing to offer dual credit nursing classes to students interested in pursuing healthcare. 

 

In 2018, Allison was recognized as an "Exemplary School Counseling Professional" by College Board's Counselor Recognition Program. Allison has also written and received grants for college & career readiness through KHQA's "One Class at a Time" and the Tracy Family Foundation.

 

Allison is a 2012 and 2015 graduate of the University of Illinois Springfield, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Educational Psychology and her Master's Degree in Human Development Counseling. Allison is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) through the State of Illinois. In addition, she holds Career Development, Trauma & Crisis Management, School Counseling Leadership, Anxiety & Stress Management. and Grief & Loss specialist certificates through the American School Counseling Association. 

 

Allison is a Quincy native and currently resides in New Berlin. She has a four year-old daughter, Maelyn. Allison is an avid fan of The Office and the St. Louis Cardinals! Fun Fact: During the Covid-19 pandemic, Allison hosted "Quarantine Convos" via Zoom for the high school students. For one of the sessions, she applied to have Joe Gatto from Impractical Jokers join the meet. He crashed the Zoom, and several of our students had the chance to speak with him!
