Kristine Bingham is a fourth grade teacher at Griggsville-Perry Elementary. The 2022-2023 school year marks her 34th year as a teacher and her 32nd at the Griggsville-Perry School District. She has taught first, second, third, fourth and fifth grades. Ten of Kristine's former elementary students have returned to the district as either teachers or support staff.
During her tenure at Griggsville-Perry, Kristine served as the junior high and high school cheer coach for 15 years. Several of her former cheerleaders went on to cheer at the college level.
Kristine graduated from the University of Illinois with her Bachelor’s Degree in 1988 and returned to the U of I to receive a Master's of Education in 1994.
In 2017, Kristine received WGEM’s Golden Apple Award for her dedication to her students during her fight with cancer.
Kristine is also currently teaching an education course at Illinois College. This experience gives her the opportunity to teach future educators on how to incorporate the arts into the classroom as well as providing various life lessons that they need to help them be prepared for their first classroom. She has had two student teachers, one of which is now teaching at GP.
