Spring Semester 2021 Student Expectations

We are excited to start another semester tomorrow (Jan.5, 2021) at GP CUSD 4! As I indicated last week, we are beginning the semester with a change in remote learning. Our classes will be live streamed at the time the class actually takes place. If your Sophomore English class meets at 10:00, then you should be online and ready to learn at 10:00. If your 6th Grade Reading class meets at 8:30, then you're online at 8:30. Daily schedules and class times are the same as in the fall. This is only for grades 5-12. Parents of K-4 students should have received information concerning your child's classes.

Students, in order to make your learning experience better, we offer the following expectations:

Student Expectations

· Attend each class during its specific meeting time

· Check your district email several times a day (morning, noon and end of the school day)

· Be ready in a quiet place (quiet) with a good study atmosphere

· Have your back against a wall so no one can walk behind you/cause disruptions to class

· Dress code applies · Engaged in class lecture, activities and discussion

· Headphones for listening to class are a plus (especially if you have other people at home with you)

· Teachers will communicate expectations with you regarding camera usage during class time

· Communicate with your teachers—email, phone, Google Meets, Google Classroom, etc.

· Follow the Acceptable Usage Policy for District devices

 

This is new, and as with anything new, it will not be perfect. Both the school and students will need to adjust. If you have issues, let your teacher or principal know. Let's work together to make it the best experience it can be. As always, I appreciate all of you--students, parents, teachers, staff, principals and Board members--who make GP such a great place! I really look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
