Patrick Apps is Dean of Students at the high school and Special Education Coordinator of the district. He joined the Griggsville-Perry district in 2010 as a special education paraprofessional. The following year, he accepted a teaching position for the district as a special education teacher for the high school.
After Patrick's first year of teaching special education courses, he transitioned to also teaching social science classes. In 2014, Patrick began teaching full time at Perry Middle School as the 7th & 8th grade social studies teacher and 7th science teacher. During these years he acted as Class of 2016 sponsor, student council sponsor, and 8th grade sponsor as well as sitting on multiple committees.
Patrick is a 2009 graduate of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where he earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in social sciences and education. Patrick then obtained his learning behavioral specialist endorsement through MacMurray College in Jacksonville. Patrick has also completed the National Institute for School Leadership Program developed by the National Center on Education And The Economy.
Patrick is a Pike County native. He was born in Pittsfield and raised on a small farm outside of Pittsfield.
