Frank Cash

Social Sciences Teacher, Middle School Athletic Director, and Middle School Track Coach

Frank Cash is in his first year teaching in the Griggsville-Perry district. He teaches seventh and eighth grade social studies and seventh grade science, serves as the middle school athletic director, and coaches middle school track.

Cash – a native of Frankford, Mo. and graduate of Bowling Green High School – graduated from Culver-Stockton with a degree in physical education in 1991. He returned to Culver-Stockton College in the fall of 2006 to complete his teaching certificate. After substitute teaching for six years, he was hired as a high school special education teacher at Mendon Unity where he worked for eight years, served as high school and middle school athletic director, and coached  high school cross country and middle school track. Cash began work on his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Western Illinois University in January 2020 and hopes to finish that in the near future after he has completed an internship. Cash is currently a member of the Illinois Athletic Directors Association and the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.

Prior to teaching, Cash was a sports writer at the Quincy Herald-Whig  for 27 years, an assistant football coach and assistant athletic director at Quincy Notre Dame, and worked as the sports information director at Quincy University for two years. He enjoys public address announcing at area sporting events and following professional, college and high school sports. In addition, he enjoys walking, reading, exploring geography and researching sports history.  His favorite social-studies related topics include the Civil War, presidential history, 20th century history, and United States civics and government.

Cash has been married to the former Beth Weas, a 1986 Griggsville High School graduate, since July 16, 2005. They live outside of Paloma with their Great Pyrenees, Charlie, two cats, Tennessee and Gabby, along with several dairy heifers. They enjoy attending St. Louis Cardinals games, following the Kansas City Chiefs and traveling when time allows.
