Matt Hansen

Elementary P.E. & High School Driver's Ed. Teacher, Middle School Basketball Head Coach, High School Basketball Ast. Coach

Matt Hansen is an elementary P.E. and high school driver’s education teacher at Griggsville-Perry. Matt is the head coach of Griggsville-Perry middle school basketball team and is an assistant with the high school program. He is the sponsor of Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and has coached the middle school track team in prior years. In 2022 he was awarded IBCA District 17 Coach of the Year.

Matt earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education-teacher education at Illinois State University. At Illinois State he went on to complete his endorsement in health education and social studies. Matt later attended Greenville College to receive his driver’s education endorsement.

Originally from Carterville, a small town in southern Illinois, Matt has learned to love the central-western part of the state. He can found at St. Louis Cardinal games, Illinois State basketball games, and golfing in the summer time.
